http://www.mythminute.com/    -    Prefer listening to your information on the move?  Mythminute podcasts are for you!  Lasting for just over a minute each one tells you a different mythological story, or about different mythological characters.  Just download them and listen!

Upper School Competition, Write about History!

Is there a writing competition for every subject?  Yes there is!  This is the History one open to Year 10 and above only!  Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to write a story about and event or a person from English History.  In no more than 700 words.  Make it funny, interesting, exciting, unusual, just make it GOOD!  For help and ideas check out the flyer/entry form below and if you would like to enter and win give your entry to Miss Berrisford in the Library.

International Science Poetry Competition

Yes now you too could write a poem on the theme of SCIENCE and win international acclaim! (and a nice shiny trophy, and the chance to boast to all your friends!)  The poem could be about anything from science lessons, to the problems with genetics.  From what you think about science teachers to what makes up an atom!  Check out the following website for details!  and don’t forget that the Reading and Writing Club runs every Tuesday after school if you want some help!

Poetry Competition for 6th Form

Below is a link to the main page for the 2008 Christopher Tower Poetry Competition.  This is a poetry competition open to anyone in 6th Form.  The theme for the poetry is CHANGE and the first prize (as if the prizes meant anything!) is £3,000.  Why not have a go at writing your own poem on change, hand it in to the Library and we will enter it for you!  So why not have a go?
